30" Pool Stool FAQ
Does the pool stool need to be installed or anchored?
No. The 24" Pool Stool comes pre-weighted. Set it in the pool and it fills with water and sinks to the bottom on its own. There's no assembly, drilling or anchoring.
What water depth do I need for the 30" pool stool?
The 30" Pool Stool is designed for water 36" to 53" deep. If your water is 28" to 46" deep, the 24" Pool Stool is the better fit. Where the ranges overlap (36" to 46"), either works: the 30" seat (30" from the pool floor) sits you higher in the water and the 24" sits you lower.
What's the difference between the 24" and 30" pool stools?
Seat height and water depth. The 24" seat is 24" from the pool floor and fits water 28" to 46" deep; the 30" seat is 30" from the floor and fits 36" to 53". Out of the water, the 24" weighs about 17 lbs and the 30" about 30 lbs. Both have an 18" diameter seat with gentle ridging to prevent slipping, a 300 lb weight limit, four vinyl-safe leveling feet, a salt-system-compatible build and a 3-year warranty. The 24" starts at $179.99; the 30" starts at $219.99.
Can I use pool stools in an above-ground pool?
Yes. Dunn-Rite Pool Stools are designed for both inground and above-ground pools. Check your water depth (36" to 53" for the 30" stool), and the rubber-tipped feet are safe on vinyl liners.
Will a pool stool damage my vinyl liner?
No. The four leveling feet have soft rubber tips that are safe on vinyl and vermiculite pool floors.
What if my pool floor slopes?
Each stool has four hand-adjustable leveling feet, so it sits level on gently sloping pool floors.
How much weight can a pool stool hold?
Up to 300 lb.
Are pool stools safe for saltwater pools?
Yes. They're rotomolded polyethylene and salt-system compatible, made to withstand sun, salt and pool chemicals.
Can I use the stools outside the pool?
Yes. They're sturdy enough for deck, patio or poolside bar seating.
Are pool stools sold individually?
Yes. The price is per stool. Both sizes come in White, Teal Granite, Gray Granite and Sandstone; White is $10 less than the other colors.
Can I leave the stools in the pool all season?
Yes. Pool Stools can stay in the water all season, and year-round in warm climates where the pool water doesn't freeze. If you winterize your pool for the off-season, take the stools out and store them somewhere safe, like a shed or garage.
How do I take a pool stool out of the water?
Just lift it straight up. Four drain holes on the bottom and four small air holes on top let the water drain out as you lift. You can tip the stool first to empty some water faster, but it isn't necessary. Once drained, the 30" Pool Stool weighs about 30 lb.
What does the "30 inch" measure?
Seat height: 30" from the pool floor to the top of the seat.
Where are pool stools made? What's the warranty?
In Elwood, Indiana, by Dunn-Rite Products, a third-generation family-owned company making pool products since 1983. Every Pool Stool has a 3-year manufacturer's warranty.
