This one has a way to reduce or increase the pressure to the fountain by opening or closing off pressure coming from the jet, which should provide an escape for fine debris. Even when keeping the jet partially open to the pool, there is a good amount of water flow through the fountain to provide cooling of the pool. I like that the angle and direction of the spray can be adjusted as well, which was not an option with my last cooling fountain. Part of it would spray on the pool deck. Not with this one. I was under the impression the backboard may have been durable, tempered, non-breakable glass. Only downside is there are no wheels on the 25 gallon base (once filled with water) and it isn’t easy to move around or relocate on the deck if you want to reposition it over the pool. Definitely recommend the seller add wheels embedded in the base for future upgrade, otherwise it can be a deal-breaker. I saw another brand that had the wheels but all other aspects of the product were inferior to this one (e.g. size of hoop, height limitations, and opaque backboard made it cheap-looking).Tip: Contrary to the instructions , I recommend attaching the hoop/net combo while the base is turned face-forward over the deck rather than the pool…made it much, much faster that way because we weren’t compensating for having the backboard hanging over the pool while we were trying to attach it…and we had a bolt drop into the pool that way vs one that dropped on the deck and my husband didn’t have to jump into the pool to retrieve it…he had to jump in the pool to retrieve the one that dropped in the pool…which by the way, you have to hold them just right to screw them into the thread of the screw to properly fasten them. This item is built sturdy, the backboard is solid and plays true. The rim is strong and of great quality. We shoot around when just the 2 of us are in the pool, but we had a little 3 on 3 game the other day and this provided lots of entertainment and a workout! The only drawback, which is not the products fault is when you miss a shot or the ball goes off the backboard it rolls out of play and you have to keep getting out the pool to retrieve the ball. We solved that problem by putting up the child proof enclosure just around the areas behind the unit and it kicks the ball back perfectly! We bought extra balls and the kids absolutely love this goal. We've had a few months now and I have a saltwater pool.. So far no issues. The screw wing nuts do walk their way out after use, but just put some plumbers Teflon tape (pipe thread tape) on them and it fixes them right away.
